Hi! My name is Hina.
I'm extremely friendly, give lots of kisses, and love to play! I require someone who understands me and can establish healthy boundaries so I can thrive with reciprocate love. I love cuddles but sometimes I can get too excited!
I need a home with older children (I am a too excitable, I may jump!), no cats, and a medium activity level.
I'd probably be best as the only pet--I require lots of attention!
I'm a blue nosed pitbull mix, am medium, about 9 years old, and am gray with a white chest.
I'm the resident social butterfly!
Hi Everyone! My name is Kailani.
I'm about 4.5 years old, 40 lbs., hound mix, and a beautiful brindle gal. I was rescued on the side of the road with a broken femur. The vets fixed up my leg and my little limp has almost completely disappeared.
I absolutely love other dogs and am a bit of a rascal with them. With the humans I'm quite skittish, so would do well in a home with other confident dogs and humans who are willing work with me. Cats are an unknown for me. I can get a bit mouthy when being playful, so need to be in a home where the children older.
I am available for foster to adopt!
Our names are Joe (white dream boat) and Hannah (shy sweetheart).
We are a bonded pair who has been through so much together and are hoping to find our forever home. We met at the KAWS sanctuary and immediately fell in love. I (Joe) have helped Hannah become more confident and we enjoy going on hikes together as well as snuggling on the couch.
Hannah is about 8 years old and a vizsla mix and I am pushing 10 and a pit/hound mix. We like other dogs as long as they aren't too pushy. Cats are probably not the best match for us. We would do well in a home with a calm environment and humans who like to get out and hike as well as lounge around the house.
My name is Reggie and I am part of the KAWS House pack.
My life was pretty rough up until now and and I am just now getting used to being a house dog and learning that the humans can be really nice.
My caregivers at KAWS are getting to know me more and have learned that I love the the other dogs. I'm the BEST leash walker and stay right by my human's side. I am super confident playing with my canine friends, but I will continue to need a lot of patience and time to warm up to people.

Greetings everyone! My name is Kamalani.
I am a confident young man, and I love to go out and explore. I'm about 60 pounds and 6 years old. I prefer the female dogs and am pretty selective with which male dogs I like.
I came to the KAWS sanctuary with some yucky skin and ear infections. I was pretty skinny too. I've started eating good food and am taking some medicine to help my skin feel and look a better. My vet suspects that I may have an on-going skin condition, and we are still trying to figure out what my best skincare regimen is.
I'm a very happy fella who would love a family willing to work on basic training with me and who would promise to take me on lots of adventures in nature.
Hi! My name is Lila, short for `Apelila (“April” in Hawaiian)!
I am a 2 year old bundle of love. I came to the KAWS Sanctuary from the local shelter where I was having a hard time with my unbridled energy.
During my time at the sanctuary, I have played a lot of fetch, and go on jogs of up to 3 miles a day. Consistent exercise and structured handling have helped me to calm down and enjoy my surroundings. While I am still quite headstrong, I aim to please. I would do best in a home with no other pets, and humans who can commit to exercising me every day.

My name is Ha`ena, and I'm the sweetest dog ever!
I am between 10-12 years old and am a pitbull/catahoula mix.
I came to the KAWS Sanctuary from the local shelter where I was suffering from what seemed like a chronic cold. After moving to the sanctuary, I had a complete battery of procedures to try and figure out what was causing my major congestion. All tests and procedures came back inconclusive. I am feeling a lot better and my congestion is controlled with antibiotics every other month.
I get along with other dogs, both big and small, and nothing makes me happier than to hang out with the humans.
Hi, I’m Kea, a sweet 14.5 year old male terrier mix.
KAWS rescued me after I ended up at the Kauai Humane Society. I am friends with all the residents of the senior dog home in which I reside. I'm very much enjoying my time at KAWS so far!
I am a happy guy, love humans, and enjoy the company of other dogs.

I came to the KAWS Sanctuary in need of some special care for my senior years. While I am blind and deaf, I'm happy as can be! I love people and other dog friends.
I'm settling in well at KAWS and enjoying figuring out my new surroundings and getting lots of sniff time in.

I came to KAWS after my owner passed away. I'm settling into life at Kupuna Kamp and enjoying meeting new friends!
Aside from some vision loss in my left eye, I'm a healthy guy! I'm friendly with everyone I meet and am hoping to find a new furever home soon.
I enjoy going on walks and taking in my surroundings.

came to KAWS from Kauai Humane Society and have I'm made myself right at home at Kupuna Kamp!
I am positive for Ehrlichia, a common tick borne disease out here, and am being treated and monitored. I do have some incontinence, but I'm hoping that will clear up with meds.
I'm enjoying sniffing around my new home and have had successful introductions with all the other elders in my new pack!
